Every year the Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas funds the Buddy Walk to help spread awareness of Down Syndrome. At the Buddy Walk they have live music, food, vendor booths, arts and crafts, games, and more. Everyone participating gathers at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, Arkansas, for a one-mile run/walk around the field. At the end of the run/walk, Chick-fil-a is there with an appreciative lunch.
Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas has three main goals for the Buddy Walk. They are to develop acceptance and embrace people with Down Syndrome. The next one is to help enhance the position of the Down Syndro me community. Now the last one is to raise funds for education, support research and advocacy programs.
