Spring Cleaning

Spring is in the air which means it’s time for the annual spring cleaning. Some people always put the work to the end and never get around to it, but don’t you want people coming over and looking at your nice clean house? Let’s stop procrastinating and if you’re worried about not being able to get out those tough stains that just won’t go away well I have the solution because I know a few diy spring cleaning ideas that will help. These recipes are all natural and that leave your surfaces clean. The recipe that I found the most useful and effective is called the glass cleaner. The recipe calls for two cups of water, two tablespoons of white vinegar, two tablespoons of rubbing alcohol, and five drops of peppermint essential oil. After you have gotten all the ingredients combine them together in a 24 ounce spray bottle and shake it very well so that they are all mixed very well. Once you have combined your ingredients spray it on a cloth and apply to the surface. This recipe is proven to be very effective to clean your surfaces during your spring cleaning season. I know what you’re thinking why should i care about having to do spring cleaning well you should care. If you don’t clean your house it could cause your house to be messy and cause believe it or not bacteria. So if you decide to actually do spring cleaning use the glass cleaning method.

5 Crazy Easter Traditions

5 Crazy Easter Traditions

  1. In Haux France one easter tradition is to have a giant omelet served in town square it feeds up to a thousand people and uses four thousand five hundred eggs. The story behind it was that when napoleon was traveling through france he and his army ate omelets. Napoleon decided that he liked them so much he had ordered the townspeople to make a giant omelet for his army the next day.
  2. On the greek island of Corfu an easter tradition is to throw out all the pots and pans and flower pots from their windows on easter sunday. It is said that the tradition came from the venetians who on new year’s day used to throw out all their old items. Others say that it is symbolized as throwing all the plants out that will grow during spring.
  3. On Holy Thursday in the Medieval town of Verges, Spain, the traditional “dansa de la mort” or “death dance” is performed. To reenact scenes from The Passion, everyone dresses in skeleton costumes and parades through the streets. The procession ends with frightening skeletons carrying boxes of ashes. The macabre dance begins at midnight and continues for three hours into the early morning.
  4. For 130 years, the White House has hosted the Easter Egg Roll on its South Lawn. The main activity involves rolling a colored hard-boiled egg with a large serving spoon, but now the event boasts many more amusements, like musical groups, an egg hunt, sports and crafts. This year’s theme is “Ready, Set, Go!” and will promote health and wellness, featuring activities that encourage children to lead healthy and active lives
  5. In Prizzi, Sicily, “the Abballu de daivuli is a representation of devils from locals wearing terrifying masks of zinc and dressed in red robes,” Those dressed in costume pester as many “souls” as they can before the afternoon when the Virgin Mary and the risen Christ save the day by sending the devils away with angels.

Signs Spring’s Coming

Spring is just around the corner and with it’s dazzling warm weather comes all kinds of seasonal nature such as birds, flowers and trees. In case you don’t know when it’s coming, there are many signs to tell you. One of the beautiful ones would be the birds. With the weather changing, the birds want to be back and in their warm weather, so your day will be filled with song. Birds such as the Orchard Oriole, which holds the colors black, green and orange. Along with the birds, comes the buds along the trees. Flowers such as the Yellow Dog-Tooth Violet, the Downy Phlox and False Garlic. There is also the wonderful earthy smell that comes and with that the green grass and fresh leaves. Everyone looks forward to the many beauties of spring.

What is May Day?

May Day is a holiday that is not very prominent in America. May Day is held on May 1st and it is considered an ancient northern hemisphere spring festival. May Day is also referred to as International Worker’s Holiday, or more commonly in the United States, Labor Day. This holiday consists of singing, dancing and even cake. This holiday even dates back to ancient , or pre-christian, times with the Festival of Flora, who is worshipped as the goddess of flowers. Roman catholics observe May Day as a time to worship the Virgin Mary. Europe even takes that tradition even farther, by crowning an semi-official May Queen. As you can see, different places and people celebrate this wonderful holiday in various ways.

MLS Soccer Season Begins!

Last Sunday, one of the most exciting events for us American soccer fans began, The M.L.S season. Us soccer fans love this time of the year because we get to experience a new competition and see who will turn out champion. Last year’s victorious team was the Portland Timbers, a team from Oregon. Most people who like the sport in the nation know some of the brief history of the league. There is a lot of history to this soccer association. It was officially created on December, 17 1993. The whole creation of it began with the bidding of the 1993 World Cup. When FIFA announced that the World Cup would take place in the U.S, people thought that we should have a professional league to make the sport ‘bigger’ in the country. Although the league consists of many American teams, there are also some Canadian teams as well. There are only 3 Canadian teams, as opposed to the 18 American teams. These Canadian teams are Toronto F.C, Montreal Impact, and the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Many People are huge fans of the league and support one specific team. I am a fan of New York City F.C, a team based in N.Y.C as stated in the name. Many people do not know this, but N.Y.C F.C is actually one of the newer clubs in the league. It was established in 2015. Once I found out about this, I was glad because I thought New York needed a new team to compete for the title. When the team was first created, it acquired some good players that played for top clubs in Europe (the hardest continent of soccer). NYC FC bought an FC Barcelona legend by the name of David Villa, a Juventus FC legend by the name of Andrea Pirlo, and a Chelsea FC legend by the name of Frank Lampard. These three players were veterans of the game, each winning multiple titles around europe. To conclude, the M.L.S may not be commonly known around the U.S, but I believe it will be a part of our lives in the future.

Thinking About Our Future

High school, a place to study and prepare for your future within four years. The question is, when is it too early or too late to worry about your future and discuss what you’ll be spending your life as? It’s absurd to start planning your life when you barely enter high school, but planning your future choices and what you’re going to do isn’t something you should just barely be thinking about when graduation is coming near.

It’s alright when you have a couple ideas of what you might enjoy doing when entering high school, just planning things out for one path is over the top. Your feelings for that job also can change over time, you can find something better along the way. That’s why it’s best to think about it but don’t start shaping your future right away, it’s best to have alternates. Now, does that mean to wait last minute and start thinking about your future? No, it is still important to think about your future. Just not over the top to the point you already thought of all the classes you’re going to take in your future.

In my opinion, I think you should start off all the necessary classes to take to graduate. Only with that, you can start thinking what classes you want to attend to without worrying. After that, you should be at least in either your second or third year of high school, that way you already have a sense of who you are and what do you want to do when you grow up. With that in mind, you should then go to all the classes you want to attend. Doing it this way, you aren’t rushing yourself and understand what you want to do with your life.

This is my opinion in thinking about the future. You don’t have to worry and rush about your future when you just enter high school, just find out all the opportunities that are offered to you. When you feel like it’s the best time and that you’ve accomplished with finding out what you want to become, then take hold on the opportunities and accept them.

As the debate escalates into an all-out feud, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) must pick a side.
