Just recently Payton and I took a survey regarding the student’s top choice of a list of 20 popular, modern songs.  As you can see by the list posted above, the voted upon number 1 best song is “In The Night” by The Weekend. Something that Payton and I thought about when conducting this article was why music is important to us. Music is a vessel. If you let it, it can take you to another place. It can distract you from whatever is bothering you. It’s an expression of something that’s on the writer/ singers mind. Next time you’re listening to a song that you really really like, think about why you like it. Why is it important or meaningful to you.
